Are You Compassionate?
Compassion is the simple act of noticing someone’s suffering and wanting to help. So, with that in mind, are you compassionate?
If you subscribe to Discoveries for the Driven, the answer is most likely a resounding “YES!” 😉
Recently, I asked someone to rate the compassion they have for others on a scale of 1 to 10. They said 10. When I asked how much compassion they have for themselves, they said 7.
It made me wonder whether we can fully offer others a 10 when we are only offering ourselves a 7.
Now, consider the question again. Are you compassionate?
The compassion you give others may only rise as high as the compassion you give yourself.
Learning to relate to yourself with greater awareness and compassion is a worthwhile pursuit because it allows you to show up more fully for the benefit of others.
Isn’t that what life is all about?

Where are you being harder on yourself than you would be on someone you love, and how might you offer yourself greater compassion in that moment?
