Episode 133: Gino's Riff - A Quick Hit and a Long Road

In this episode of Shed & Shine, Gino starts with gratitude. Sitting in a coffee shop during a clarity break, a wave of gratitude hit him for the people in his life who had lifted him or made him better, so he texted 15 of them four words: "I'm grateful to have you in my life." The responses surprised him. One person wrote back that he really needed it that day, and a few told him they'd never heard anything like it from Gino before. It felt a little strange for people to hear, but it strengthened everything.

Then he shifts to delayed gratification, asking whether you're actually practicing it. He points to the marshmallow study, the rock climber who could endure discomfort longer than most, and the first brutal decade of building EOS. These are all examples of the same idea: compound interest applies to more than money.

Gratitude is the quick hit and delayed gratification is the long road. Both, however, are worth sitting with.
