Getting Along with Yourself
You’re driven and always striving, often in many areas of your life . . . especially your career! In all that effort, it’s easy to forget that the most important relationship you have is the one with yourself. I’ve spoken with many driven people lately who missed their goals this year and are feeling discouraged. When your relationship with yourself is filled with judgment or tension, it shows. Others can sense it. Getting along with yourself starts when you slow down and listen to your True Self. That deeper part of you doesn’t judge. It knows you’re not broken, even when you fall short of a goal.
In Shine, we teach that you can be driven and have peace. Do you believe that? Can you live it? When you cultivate steadiness and emotional balance, you stop reacting to every rise and fall in life. Clear thinking returns. Decisions flow from wisdom instead of mood. Over time, you begin to feel at home in your own presence, and that quiet steadiness becomes the foundation for how you move through each day.
Journal prompt:
How do you speak to yourself when things don’t go the way you hoped, and what would change if you responded with understanding instead of judgment?
Final Thought
“Until you make peace with who you are, you’ll never be content with what you have.” —Doris Mortman
When you can sit in stillness and feel at home in your own presence, peace grows quietly within. That inner harmony is where your true freedom begins.
Wishing you lots of joy ♥️
Much love,
Rob
