Forbidden Topics

In the one-on-one work I do with clients on The Journey, there are five areas that are intentionally brought to the surface early. They are body, money, sex, death, and identity. These are the places where your energy gets stored, your truth gets buried, and your instinct to protect yourself takes over. Your body holds stories about health, aging, appearance, and vitality. Money reflects status, security, worth, and the way you relate to earning and spending. Sex carries attraction, desire, shame, and longing. Death touches fear, impermanence, legacy, and unspoken wishes. Identity includes past experiences, self narratives, biases, and the beliefs you have been living from, often without realizing it.

Some of these are easier to talk about than others, but each one has a cost when left unexamined. Consider how often you speak about these areas with real honesty, sharing your truth without hiding or softening it. When something stays unspoken, it does not disappear, it settles into your body and shapes how you move through life. This is why driven people can be successful and still feel tight, restless, or disconnected. What you avoid carries weight, and what you bring into the light begins to loosen. When you start to face these parts of yourself with honesty and compassion, the shame begins to ease, your energy opens up, and a deeper sense of peace starts to emerge.

Journaling prompt
Which of the five topics feels most uncomfortable to talk about with someone close to you? What feels at risk if you were fully honest? What is one small step you could take this week to speak more truthfully about it?

Final Thought
“Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength.” Sigmund Freud

You are not meant to carry everything alone. When truth is welcomed, freedom follows.

Wishing you lots of joy ♥️

Much love,
Rob
